Ingrid Cota Morgan

Ingrid Cota Morgan (Mexico City, 1992) is a feminist artist based in Mexico City. She has a bachelor’s degree in Visual Arts from the Faculty of Art and Design of the UNAM, National Autonomous University of Mexico, where she is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree in Sculpture. She has participated in exhibitions in the Museum for Memory and Tolerance, the Gallery of “El Rule” Cultural Center, Obras de Arte Comentadas, Museo Privado, Casa del Lago, and in Oaxacan spaces Casa Rosa and La Curtiduría.

Her work reflects on the violence and control inflicted on women’s bodies by hegemonic standards of beauty. Her aim is to reveal the way in which these standards operate in order to dismantle them.
