Serra Tansel is a visual artist born in Istanbul and currently based in London.

Her practice engages with the ways in which we settle into our world, our cities, our houses and our bodies and the structures, the relationships we establish within them.

She is a member of the collectives Hayırlı Evlat they founded with İpek Hamzaoğlu and Gizem Karakaş in 2017; Makkam they founded with Alper Oruç, Daniela Nofal and Yamen Makdad in 2018; and Bonnington Café London that has been running since the 1980’s.
