Derya Bayraktaroğlu is an independent curator and writer, based in Istanbul.
Her works dwell on feminism, queer methodology, socially engaged art, and creative activism. She has a background in political science and cultural studies. Worked at the contemporary art institutions that contribute to the development of arts and the cultural infrastructure of Turkey, carried out curatorial research, exhibition display, and publishing activities. Recent curatorial works include Buluşma / Date (Barın Han, İstanbul, 2020), Unspeakable Home, Enchanting Companions (Badischer Kunstverein, Karlsruhe, 2019), colony (Kaos GL Association – Schwules Museum, Berlin, 2018, Abud Efendi Mansion, Istanbul, 2017), A Trial on S.C.U.M. (2013 – ongoing, Turkey and abroad).
